The general objective of this paper is to present the significant challenges faced by women working in the Federal Public Administration, such as cultural barriers, wage inequality, lack of opportunities, and to understand whether there have been advances related to the inclusion of women in the public service. The specific objectives are to verify the historical evolution of female participation within the federal public service; to identify which factors contributed to the increase in the presence of women in the Federal Public Administration in recent years; to evaluate how the expansion of opportunities for women in the public sector has impacted the job market. This is exploratory bibliographical research, analyzing publications from the last 25 years, to reflect the transformations in the federal public service and in society. The aim is to create scenarios that help to understand the challenges faced by women and possible solutions to remedy situations related to gender inequalities and promote the increase in the number of women in the public sector. The data were organized and analyzed in an interpretative and comparative manner through tables. This strategy allowed the construction of a robust and diversified theoretical body for critical analysis of the data regarding the presence of women in the Federal Public Administration.
