APLICAÇÃO DO ACORDO DE NÃO PERSECUÇÃO PENAL EM CRIMES DE TRÂNSITO
This article aims to analyze the application of the Non-Prosecution Agreement (NPA) in traffic-related crimes and its impact on the effectiveness of the legal system and the reparation of victims. Considering the high number of traffic violations in Brazil, especially those with criminal consequences, the NPA is discussed as an alternative to traditional criminal prosecution. The research adopts a qualitative methodology, with a bibliographic and documentary approach, based on current legislation, legal doctrine, and official data. The results indicate that the NPA may represent an effective solution to promote offender accountability, repair the harm caused, and reduce judicial delays. It is concluded that, when properly applied, the NPA contributes to the efficiency of the criminal justice system and to a faster and more humane justice, especially in cases of low-offensive crimes, such as negligent traffic offenses.
