Results of a pilot study of an occupational therapy program for junior girls (U-17) specializing in wrestling after treatment of knee injuries

The article highlights the results of a research-experimental verification of the effectiveness of the occupational therapy program for junior girls of the U-17 age category, who specialize in wrestling and underwent recovery after treatment of knee joint injuries. The purpose of the study was to adjust the content and structure of rehabilitation measures taking into account the functional state of female athletes in the post-traumatic period. Research methods: pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, testing of physical condition and functional capabilities, medical and biological methods (ultrasound, MRI, stabilography, electromyography), questionnaires and interviews, expert assessment method, mathematical statistics methods. The experiment involved 32 female athletes, divided into control and experimental groups. The occupational therapy program included a combination of specially selected physical exercises, motor training and functional modeling of combat actions in a gentle mode. The results were evaluated according to indicators of motor activity, knee joint stability and psychological readiness for resuming training. The obtained data showed a significant improvement in functional indicators in the experimental group. The proposed program demonstrated high efficiency and can be recommended for implementation in the practice of sports rehabilitation of junior wrestlers.
