One of the means used for the purpose of patriotic education is horting (a martial art that combines physical training, moral education, military-patriotic training and the cultivation of national consciousness). However, despite the great popularity of horting as a sport and a means of physical education, which has deep roots in the Cossack culture, a relatively small number of scientific papers are devoted to the problem of determining the features of its influence on the indicators of the physical condition of children, which determines the expediency of further research in this direction. The purpose of the study was to determine the peculiarities of the influence of sectional classes of combat hortint on the indicators of the physical condition of children of primary school age. Organization of the study. The study was conducted in accordance with the thematic plan of the PDAFKiS Research and Development Program for 2021-2025. on the topic "Scientific substantiation of health and recreational technologies in the physical education of different groups of the population" (state registration number 0121U108320) were carried out in the period from September 2023 to November 2024. The study involved 60 children - 20 girls and 40 boys of primary school age from 7 to 8 years old. Results. It was found that the programs of sectional combat horting classes contributed to the improvement of the indicators of the functional state of the cardio-respiratory system (heart rate indicators decreased by 7.2 beats / min in boys and by 6.4 beats / min in girls, VL increased by 60.25 ml in boys and 107.5 ml in girls, Stange test indicators increased by 4.98 s in boys and 4.6 s in girls, Gench test - by 3.6 s in boys and 4.8 s in girls (p<0.05). An improvement in the level of heart performance according to the Roufier index (p<0.05) and a statistically significant increase in most indicators of physical fitness (p<0.05) were recorded. Conclusions. The results of the study indicate a positive impact of sectional horting classes on the physical condition of children of primary school age. Thus, a comparison of indicators of the physical condition of students of the experimental group at the beginning and at the end of the experiment showed a statically significant improvement in the level of physical development, functional state and the level of development of basic motor qualities (p<0.05).
