COMPARAÇÃO DOS INDICADORES FISIOLÓGICOS ENTRE HOMENS E MULHERES NO BASQUETEBOL COMPETITIVO: REVISÃO DE EVIDÊNCIAS
This study aimed to analyze, through an integrative literature review, the main physiological differences between male and female athletes in competitive basketball. The research was based on Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), using the PICO strategy to formulate the guiding question and the PRISMA flow diagram for article selection. Articles published between 2015 and 2025 focusing on physiological indicators such as VO₂max, strength, anaerobic power, and body composition were included. A total of 18 studies met the inclusion criteria. The findings revealed that, although biological differences exist between sexes, the responses to training are quite similar when methodologies are adapted to individual characteristics. Small-sided games, repeated sprints, and interval training showed significant improvements for both male and female athletes. It is concluded that understanding and respecting the physiological particularities of each sex contributes to more effectiveand equitable training prescription in high-performance basketball.
