A EFICIÊNCIA DA REGULAGEM NA CULTURA DO MILHO
During corn harvesting, various types of waste can negatively affect productivity, such as losses in the field, mechanical grain breakage due to poor adjustment, moisture losses and grains in the cob, caused by poor adjustment of the concave cylinder. Harvesting, although it may seem like a simple step, is crucial in the agricultural cycle, directly impacting the quality and efficiency of production. The general objective of this study is to provide adequate regulation for corn harvesters, aiming to minimize production losses. The specific objectives include determining the sieve setting that wastes less grain in the CASEH 7150 combine, the ideal concave RPM for threshing without grain breakage, differentiating samples collected from each type of sieve and presenting conclusions based on the results obtained. The study will be carried out at Fazenda São Geraldo, located in the city of CAJUAPARA – MA, with a hot and humid climate according to the KOPPEN classification, and will be focused on the corn cultivar ZEA MAYS of the Pioneira P3858 variety. The experiment will involve harvesting in different sieve and concave configurations, with approximately 120 samples collected and weighed to determine the most efficient settings in terms of production. For an ideal corn harvest, it is crucial that the grain has between 15% and 14% moisture; Excessively high or low values may result in significant losses in storage or transportation to third-party silos.
