Nanostructuration de catalyseurs métalliques dans un film polymère : vers des matériaux d’électrodes stables et performants
(Text in French) Nanostructuring of metal catalysts in a polymer film: towards stable and high-performance electrode materials The development of electrolysis technologies for green hydrogen production, CO2 reduction, and water disinfection offers promising solutions to current environmental, climate, and energy challenges. However, the metals used as catalysts –key components of electrode materials– raise concerns, as these metals are or will become strategic and even critical resources. A promising strategy involves reducing the quantity of these metals while maintaining high performance through nanostructuring. This approach is the focus of extensive research. In this context, this article explores a simple and versatile electrochemical method for creating nanocomposite electrode materials. These materials incorporate finely dispersed and stabilized metallic or metal oxide nanoparticles within a functionalized polymer film, such as polypyrrole. The promising performance of these electrodes in electrocatalysis is illustrated by the example of the water oxidation reaction.
