O PAPEL DA FISIOTERAPIA NA REABILITAÇÃO DE PACIENTES COM SEQUELAS DE CHIKUNGUNYA
Chikungunya fever can lead to persistent sequelae, such as chronic joint pain and functional limitations, significantly impacting patients’ quality of life. This study aims to analyze the role of physical therapy in the rehabilitation of individuals with Chikungunya sequelae through an integrative literature review. Twelve articles published between 2016 and 2024 were selected, focusing on physical therapy interventions in affected patients. The results indicate that physical therapy contributes to pain reduction, improved joint mobility, and enhanced functionality. Techniques such as kinesiotherapy, Pilates, aquatic therapy, and auriculotherapy showed positive effects. It is concluded that physical therapy is an effective tool in the recovery of these patients, although further clinical studies and standardized treatment protocols are needed.
