Analysis of the Social Well-Being of Participants in War and Armed Conflict (Based on Examples of International Literature)

War and military conflicts are among the most severe events recorded at every stage of human history. Humanity is quite familiar with the tragic consequences of wars, two of which went down in history as world wars. Studies conducted at the end of the 20th century began to reveal another consequence among the consequences of war, which was not so important before for a society that emphasized primarily the political and material aspects of victory or defeat. This consequence was related to the mental state and experiences of participants in war and armed conflict. This leads to psychological and social problems. This situation, in which not only political processes are experienced, but also problems with people's rights and freedoms, living conditions, education, health, and well-being, is recorded with numerous severe consequences. This problem is analyzed by political scientists, psychologists, sociologists, as well as other researchers engaged in social, political, humanitarian analysis. In this article, the difficulties experienced by participants in the war were studied and comparatively analyzed with reference to international literature. The main method of the study was the analysis of research materials. As shown in the extensive literature, medical and psychological problems of war veterans are observed together with their social problems. It has been brought to attention that changes in the worldview, mental reactions of war veterans, and in some cases, people's attitude towards them cause social discomfort. Referring to the conclusions reached by the researchers, as well as the experiences of our country in this area during the 44-day Patriotic War, it should be noted that the implementation of short-term and long-term social and psychological rehabilitation programs with war veterans is mandatory. Continuous monitoring of program results and holding meetings can help improve the social well-being of war veterans.
