Media Algorithms and User Privacy Protection: a Dynamic Game of Conflict and Balance

With the advent of the digital age, information utilization and data security have gradually become the focus in academic circles. Media algorithm runs through every link of news and information production and distribution. This paper analyzes the operation mechanism of media algorithm and user privacy protection in the digital era, and discusses the privacy disclosure risk in the algorithm era. The article attempts to put forward specific suggestions from three perspectives: the regulatory authorities should introduce regulations and strengthen supervision; platforms should enhance the transparency of algorithms and follow the "minimum necessary principle" in information collection; and users should enhance their privacy literacy and risk perception ability.
