Myocardial Perforation From a Fractured Rib During Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Posterior left ventricular perforation from fractured posterior rib. Mid-posterior left ventricular perforation with communication between the left ventricular cavity and pericardial space from a fractured posterior rib (yellow arrow) sustained during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with bubbles (orange arrow) and a large pericardial effusion. This case highlights the importance of post-CPR echocardiography in the assessment of CPR-associated cardiac injuries.
