EKOKRITIČKO ČITANJE PESNIČKE ZBIRKE „VELIKA PIJACA“ MILOVANA DANOJLIĆA
Establishing the difference between the concepts of ecopoetics and ecocriticism, the paper highlights on the ecopoetic and ecocritical meanings of Milovan Danojlić’s poetry collection Velika pijaca. Research attention is directed, on the one hand, to the shaping of the world of nature through the chronotope of the market, the act of cataloging, the development of descriptive, visual, olfactory and gustatory images, emphasizing the sacredness and beneficence of nature and its identification with the native soil. The analysis includes, on the other hand, a poetically articulated critique of progress, materialistic civilization that reduces the primordial, close domain of domestic warmth to commodities, lack of environmental awareness, the topic of pollution, chemical treatment of fruits, vegetables and flowers, as well as animal protection. The poet’s interest in preserving nature culminates, finally, in verses about ecological responsibility towards posterity and the importance of cleansing both nature and man’s inner, moral being.
