PROSTOR I ELEMENTI KOMEDIJE DEL ARTE U ROMANIMA ZA DJECU ALEKSANDRA POPOVIĆA
This paper aims to theoretically define the nature of the space in commedia dell’arte (which initially developed in adult literature) and then highlight the key characteristics of this space, focusing on how it intersects with the recognizable features of space in children’s literature. Additionally, through specific examples, four of Popović’s novels The Fate of One Charlie (Sudbina jednog Čarlija), The Guard Lieutenant Ribanac (Gardijski potporučnik Ribanac), The Cure for Aging (Lek protiv starenja) and How to Love Vesna (Kako se voli Vesna), the paper will demonstrate the various types of space (its physical and symbolic characteristics) in which commedia dell’arte is placed. The paper will also address the most important physical attributes of commedia dell’arte space and the aesthetic effect it creates in the author’s novels. All of the above should reveal some of the most important poetic characteristics of space in Popović’s children’s novels.
