Status of Midwifery Services Delivery on Maternal and Child Health Service in Canlanipa, Surigao City

This study assessed the accessibility of midwifery services to maternal and child health services in Canlanipa, Surigao City, focusing on prenatal care, childbirth services, and postnatal support. Data were collected from 35 women using purposive snowball sampling and a quantitative-descriptive design. Most respondents were married homemakers aged 32 to 38, with the majority being high school graduates. Prenatal care was identified as the most accessible service, although transportation challenges made it difficult for women to reach midwives. Childbirth services were moderately accessible, but financial constraints posed a significant barrier despite the respectful care provided. Postnatal support was found to be the least accessible service, highlighting gaps in both quality and availability. The study found that midwifery services were moderately accessible, but improvements are necessary to address transportation and financial barriers. The study recommends implementing health education programs, enhancing city and Barangay health resources, and addressing cost and transportation issues to improve service accessibility.
