El impacto de la inteligencia emocional en el rendimiento académico: más allá del conocimiento cognitivo

This essay approaches the idea that emotions are not an accessory to learning, but one of its essential conditions. Emotional intelligence, understood here as that mix of abilities to realize what one feels, manage it, express it and, hopefully, understand what others feel, plays a profound role in what happens in the classroom. That is, in how a student concentrates, in his or her willingness to keep trying after failing, or in how he or she interacts with peers. Therefore, throughout the text ideas, findings, experiences that explain how this relationship between feeling and learning works are collected, with the conclusion that emotional education must be integrated into the curriculum with intentionality, planning and, above all, coherence. Because in the end, educating from emotions is not just another pedagogical bet: it is, in fact, a concrete strategy for the school to be a space where people really learn, and where more integral and empathetic people are formed.
