Mongolian Argicultural Central Zone’s Research Results of Bio and Organic Fertilizer on Wheat, Rapeseed Crop

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effects of bio-liquid fertilizers on spring wheat and rapeseed crops under field conditions, determining the appropriate dosage and application timing, as well as assessing their impact on crop yield and seed quality. Theoretical Framework: The research aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals of Mongolia 2030, which emphasizes enhancing soil fertility and increasing domestic production of grains, potatoes, and vegetables. In the context of ongoing climate change, it is crucial to utilize bio-liquid fertilizers that do not adversely affect soil and ecological health. The bio-liquid fertilizers produced by Bio Undarga Company are customized to the unique soil characteristics of Mongolia and can potentially enhance the resilience of crops while improving both yield and quality. Method: In irrigated and non-irrigated conditions, a base fertilizer of N60P40K40 was applied to the soil before to sowing wheat. Biofertilizers were applied to the seeds before planting and during the growth stages of tillering and heading, with a total of 1-3 applications. For rapeseed, biofertilizers were applied during the germination and true leaf formation stages, also totaling 1-3 applications. Results and Discussion: In irrigated conditions, the application of Biogum biofertilizer resulted in a yield increase of 19.9% to 42.5% compared to the control. In non-irrigated conditions, the application of Biogum biofertilizer increased wheat yield by 21.6% compared to the control, while the application of the bacterial Darhan Rizo fertilizer resulted in a 27.5% increase after three applications. The application of Biostim fertilizer on rapeseed seeds resulted in yield increases of 1.7-2.5 t/ha with one application and 2.3-3.4 t/ha with 2 applications. Originality/Value: This research is the first of its kind to investigate the use of bio-liquid fertilizers that are compatible with the specific soil and climatic conditions of Mongolia. The findings demonstrate the potential of these fertilizers to enhance crop yield and seed quality without negatively impacting soil and ecological health, contributing valuable insights into sustainable agricultural practices in Mongolia.
