Vitamin D-related risk factors for preterm and full-term infants at birth: a retrospective study
Vitamin D levels in newborns were correlated with maternal obesity, maternal age, season of birth, preeclampsia, fetal growth restriction, neonatal infection, and fetal distress. At delivery, full-term infants born to women with a BMI exceeding 30 kg/m² or those delivered in winter exhibit significantly elevated levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D compared to preterm and very preterm newborns.
