Design and performance analysis of low flashpoint fuel supply system

Abstract This study investigates the methanol low flash point fuel supply system (LFSS). A simulation model was constructed using HYSYS and EDR software to examine the impact of load, ambient temperature, and operating parameters on system performance. The results indicate that when the load ranges from 25% to 100% and the feed temperature varies between -10°C and 30°C, the pressure fluctuation of the fuel supplied to the engine is 2.8% and 3.37%. These values are superior to the 6.25% pressure fluctuation range required by the engine. Additionally, the fuel temperature stabilized at 36°C-50°C and 38°C-46°C, which falls within the engine’s required temperature range of 25°C-50°C. Furthermore, the system’s specific power consumption (SPC) remains relatively stable at approximately 0.014 kWh/g when the engine load is between 65% and 100%.
