Hourly production operation simulation of an integrated energy system considering multi-energy complementarity

Abstract To achieve “dual-carbon” target, the new energy sources, such as wind power and photovoltaic, have been widely used in China’s power grid, but their intermittent and fluctuating output characteristics have increased the risk the unsafe operation of the system. By hourly power balance simulation of a new power system connected with a large amount of renewable energy, the start-up capacity and working position of various types of power supply are arranged reasonability. It is helpful to effectively realize the optimal allocation of system resources, and improve the security and reliability of system operation. Taking the operation cost as the optimization target, this paper fully considers the coordinated and complementary characteristics of multiple energy resources, and proposes an integrated energy system optimization scheduling strategy to realize the production simulation of the system at the level of 8760 hours in a year. Firstly, the output characteristics of different energy equipment in the system are analysed, and a joint optimization model of multiple power sources is established. Then, a two-level production operation simulation scheduling strategy of the integrated energy system is proposed, and the simulation model of the integrated energy system is established. Finally, the verification is conducted based on the data of the equipped power supple and load of a province. Results show that the hourly system power balance simulation proposed in this paper can comprehensively reflect and deal with the fluctuation characteristics of the new energy sources, and realize the consumption of new energy sources on the basis of ensuring the balance of system supply and demand. The simulation results can provide decision-making support for the planning of provincial regional energy systems.
