Research on the optimal allocation of demand side energy system considering voltage sag mitigation

Abstract Among the user complaints caused by power quality, the proportion of transient power quality problems exceeds 80%. As one of the main problems that need to be addressed, voltage sag is the focus of this paper. This study considers energy storage site selection and capacity optimization configuration for voltage sag compensation on a medium timescale. Firstly, we choose supercapacitor energy storage as the treatment equipment. Subsequently, the optimization objective is to minimize the economic cost of energy storage devices and the economic losses caused by voltage dips. Finally, the improved genetic algorithm is used to solve the simulation example. By comparing the voltage sag magnitudes of nodes and the economic losses of sensitive nodes before and after optimization, the results show that 94% of node voltages are within the normal range (0.93 p.u. - 1.07 p.u.). The system recovers 953, 000 yuan in economic losses annually. This study improves the operational stability and economy of regional integrated energy systems while reducing the cost of addressing power quality issues, and has high reference value.
