A model predictive control strategy for optimal vectors novel sector division of PMSM

Abstract Aiming at the problems of large speed fluctuations and high computational complexity in traditional finite control set-model predictive current control of PMSM, a model predictive control strategy for optimal vectors novel sector division of PMSM is adopted. Firstly, in order to determine the optimal vectors combination quickly, the voltage vector plane is divided into eight sectors according to coordinate axes and basic voltage vectors. Secondly, a method was designed to determine the sector and the optimal combination of three-vector voltages through two simple comparisons. At the same time, when calculating action time of selected voltages in three-vector combination, the optimal two-vector voltages combination can be determined. Finally, considering that the effect of three-vector cannot be globally superior to that of two-vector, the optimal combination that processes smallest cost function is further chosen from the optimal combination of two/three-vector to improve the speed accuracy of steady-state. Simulations and experiments shown that the strategy proposed in this paper is able to increase the speed tracking accuracy while reducing computational complexity.
