Sensorless control of dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor using high-frequency pulsating voltage injection

Abstract Based on the vector space decoupling (VSD) model of the dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM), the high-frequency (HF) pulsating voltage injection method is applied to sensorless control of DTP-PMSM. Traditional methods, which use filters for signal extraction, suffer from significant estimation errors and system delays. A second-order generalized integrator (SOGI) is employed to improve the accuracy of speed and rotor position estimation. First, to overcome the poor position observation accuracy and dynamic performance of traditional methods, a SOGI-based approach is projected for extracting position error information. By replacing the filters in the position observation loop with SOGI, parameter tuning is simplified, and observation accuracy is enhanced. Second, to mitigate the delay caused by filters in the current loop, SOGI is used to replace the low-pass filter, extracting the fundamental frequency current component and increasing the current loop bandwidth.
