High-Precision broadband signal measurement for power grids: an adaptive dual-algorithm approach

Abstract Modern power systems require adaptive and precise grid signal measurement algorithms for increasingly complex broadband characteristics. This paper presents a novel dual-strategy measurement method combining energy centroid correction with ZoomFFT technology. The method dynamically selects between algorithms based on spectral main lobe interference detection, effectively addressing measurement challenges for close-frequency inter-harmonics and low-amplitude harmonics. Validated through a 0-2.5 kHz experimental system, the method achieves relative errors of 1E-5 for frequency and 1E-3 for amplitude and phase measurements while significantly reducing computational overhead compared to traditional approaches. Results demonstrate superior performance in both measurement accuracy and efficiency, making it particularly suitable for real-time power grid monitoring applications.
