Impedance modeling of grid-forming converter via decoupling of synchronization control and vector control
Abstract A novel method for the small-signal stability assessment of grid-connected converters in a grid-forming mode is proposed by adopting a new impedance modeling approach. Firstly, impedance models for both the grid side and the equipment side are established based on the dynamic equations of the inner and outer loops, as well as the synchronous control loop, combined with the dynamic control equations of the power grid. Secondly, the determinant of the impedance model system matrix is solved. Lastly, the stability is examined using the Nyquist stability criterion with the MATLAB simulation tool.
