Research on indoor thermal environment simulation and energy-saving optimization of air-conditioning systems in large space buildings
Abstract Large space buildings frequently experience unstable indoor thermal environments and high energy consumption for air conditioning. This paper focuses on a comprehensive gymnasium in Guangzhou, utilizing numerical simulation and experimental testing methods to analyze its indoor thermal environment and to identify areas for improvement and optimization. The results show that numerical simulation is a reliable method for predicting the indoor thermal environment of large space buildings. After improving the airflow organization, the uniformity of both the indoor temperature field and velocity field is enhanced. The proposed optimization scheme for the air conditioning system not only enhances comfort but also effectively reduces energy consumption, serving as a valuable reference for the energy-efficient operation of the gymnasium’s air conditioning system.
