Crustal Stretching, Thinning and Post-Rift Moho Depth Evolution During Mesozoic Rifting in the Moroccan High Atlas
Summary The Atlas system is an intracontinental fold-and-thrust belt that formed due to the inversion of a Mesozoic aborted rift. While numerous studies have explored its tectonic evolution, key aspects such as the amount of crustal stretching and thinning of the Moroccan Atlas remain poorly constrained. This research aims to address these gaps by employing diverse approaches (width variation of the rift) and comparing findings with published estimates to evaluate the reliability and novelty of this study.
