Hydrocarbon Prospectivity of the Moroccan Atlantic Margin: Insights from the Newly Developed Prospectivity Atlas

Summary The recently developed Prospectivity Atlas of the Moroccan Atlantic Margin represents a significant step forward in understanding the hydrocarbon potential of Morocco. It is the fruit of an updated synthesis of offshore Morocco’s geology and its benefit on fostering the hydrocarbon exploration in the Moroccan Atlantic Margin. The new synthesis integrates diverse results from multidisciplinary internal evaluation, using an extensive seismic, well, and geological data. In addition to a set of key partners’ studies involved in multiple research projects undertaken in collaboration with ONHYM or as published in the research literature.
