Aeromagnetic and Gravimetric Contributions to Geological Structures and Lineaments, Global and High Atlas (Morocco): Bibliometric Analysis

Summary This study synthesizes and analyzes global geophysical research data, particularly focusing on Morocco, to understand geological structures and natural resources. Faced with increasing data complexity, bibliometric analysis and visualization were employed to identify research trends and gaps. Data from Web of Science and Scopus, using keywords like “Aeromagnetic,” “gravimetry,” “geological structures,” and “Morocco,” were analyzed to determine influential authors, institutions, and research themes. Visualization tools like VOSviewer and R were used to map keyword co-occurrences, co-citation networks, and thematic evolution. Results reveal significant growth in geophysical research, led by China and the US, with Moroccan studies, especially in the High Atlas, identifying mineralized zone extensions, faults, and stress field insights, contributing to understanding Morocco’s tectonics. The study underscores the value of geophysics and bibliometrics for guiding future research in complex geological settings, highlighting the potential of Moroccan research and the need for stronger international collaboration.
