Pleszewska kinematografia w okresie międzywojennym
The aim of the article is to present the activities of the so-called “cinema - theatres” in Pleszew during the interwar period. The primary source materials consist mainly of records from the Pleszew City Archives, kept at the State Archives in Kalisz, as well as information from local newspapers of the time. The first part provides a description of the cinema establishments that were operating at that time (Kino Edisona, Kino Apollo, Kino Nowości, Kino Wojskowe, Kino Czar), along with brief biographies of their owners and lessees. Subsequently, based on archival materials, the principles of operation of cinema theaters in the Second Polish Republic are discussed. The last two sections present the two longest-operating enterprises of this type in Pleszew (Kino Apollo and Kino Czar).
