Cation-Exchange Capacity – a Fast Approach to Quantify Alteration within Hydrothermal Systems
Summary Cation-exchange capacity measurements are used to quantify the alteration in high-temperature geothermal systems and are compared with resistivity measurements. The cation-exchange capacity method is a fast and reliable method that can be applied directly at the drill site by using the methylene blue method. This on-site analytic method allows for fast decision making within geothermal drilling projects.
