“Gravimetric Investigation of Tectonic Structures and Mineralization Zones in the Central High Atlas (Morocco): Bibliometric Approaches”
Summary The Central High Atlas of Morocco is a geologically complex region shaped by tectonic and magmatic processes, with gravimetry playing a key role in exploring its subsurface structures. This study systematically analyzes gravimetric applications in the region, focusing on their role in understanding tectonic frameworks and mineralization zones. Using data from Scopus and Web of Science databases, the research identifies global trends, key contributors, and scientific collaborations in gravimetric studies, comparing findings from the Central High Atlas to those from other regions. Tools such as R-bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used to map research networks and visualize trends. Results show a significant increase in gravimetric research, particularly in mountainous areas like the Central High Atlas, highlighting major geological structures, active fault systems, and correlations between gravimetric anomalies and tectonic activity. The comparative analysis reveals that Moroccan research mainly focuses on tectonics and mineralization, while international studies often emphasize technological innovations. This study underscores the importance of gravimetry in investigating complex geological features and calls for stronger international collaboration and interdisciplinary research to enhance methodologies and foster knowledge exchange across regions.
