Unravelling Presalt Depositional Setting Integrating Multiscale well Data and Seismic Features of the Kwanza Basin, Angola

Summary This study explores the pre-salt basin evolution by reviewing basin-wide trends and their influence on sediments transportation and deposition within the basin. We integrate regional interpretation of 3D and 2D seismic data with five wells available offshore. We present a range of evidence from regional seismic interpretations and observations, together with well analysis that highlight basin evolution differences between north and south of the Luanda Transform Zone. This study provides a detailed analysis of the distinct characteristics and evolutionary processes that differentiate the North Kwanza basin from the South Kwanza basin.
