Líquenes de las sierras de Ancares y Courel. Lugares de Importancia Comunitaria en el NO de la Península Ibérica/Lichens of the Ancares and Courel mountain ranges. Sites of Community Importance in the NW of the Iberian Peninsula

Some of the best preserved atlantic woods in the Northwest of the Iberian Peninsula are located in the SCI Ancares-Courel. Old forests of Quercus robur and Castanea sativa hold an astonishing oceanic biota of lichenized and lichenicolous fungi. In 2021, 19 localities representing the diversity of this territory were prospected. As a result, a catalog has been prepared with 177 taxa, of which 109 are epiphytic, 27 saxicolous, 23 muscicolous, 21 lignicolous, 13 terricolous and 1 lichenicolous, growing some of the taxa on different substrates. Some of the most interesting species is Gilbertaria contristans. Furthermore, several species are new records to Galicia: Agonimia tristicula, Athallia cerinelloides, Biatora chrysantha, Blastenia herbidella, Bryoria bicolor, Calicium adspersum, C. trabinellum, C. tigillare, Epigloea medioincrassata, Micarea micrococca, Montanelia disjuncta, Physcia subalbinea, Polycauliona candelaria, Pseudothelomma ocellatum, Sphinctrina leucopoda, Thelenella muscorum var. muscorum, Umbilicaria deusta and Varicellaria velata.
