Length sizing of concrete rebar debonding by electromagnetic pulse-induced acoustic testing
The reinforced concrete specimens with various lengths of debonding were prepared, and the sizing of the debonding section of the specimen by electromagnetic pulse-induced acoustic testing (EPAT) was attempted. The signal time of flight between the debonding and no debonding specimens was the constant; even the debonding length was changed. In addition, regardless of the debonding length, EPAT can measure the lengths accurately. Therefore, EPAT can not only detect the presence of debonding even if the length of the debonding changes in reinforced concrete but can also measure the lengths quantitatively.
