To "Cultivate our Own": Constructing the Tasmanian Miniature in Louisa Meredith's Colonial Literature for Children

Abstract: Louisa Anne Meredith (1812–1895) published a range of distinctive and generically fluid books for children exploring the island of Tasmania/lutruwita from her colonial perspective. In this paper, we reintroduce Meredith to the international field of children's literature to develop our theory of the miniature in colonial books for children.
