TOPP-N: TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION FOR GUIDING AND EVALUATING NURSING STUDENTS IN CURRICULAR INTERNSHIP IN BRAZIL
ABSTRACT Objective: to report the experience of translating and adapting the Technology-Optimized Practice Process in Nursing application developed to support students, preceptors, and educators in guiding and evaluating students in supervised curricular internships in nursing. Method: this is an experience report which addresses the translation and adaptation of the linguistic content of the Technology-Optimized Practice Process in Nursing into Brazilian Portuguese, performed between January and March 2022. This application was originally developed in Norway in Norwegian, Swedish, and English. Results: The Technology-Optimized Practice Process in Nursing was translated and adapted into Brazilian Portuguese in order to optimize communication, stimulate critical thinking and self-efficacy among students, and ensure structured evaluation during the curricular internship. Conclusion: the application facilitates the process of organizing internships and monitoring students, facilitating teaching and learning through an assimilation of students’ strengths and weaknesses, recorded in reports and assessments. The daily electronic reports generated stimulate self-regulated learning and critical thinking. Continuous feedback to students has proven to be essential for professional development, guiding and promoting confidence, motivation, and possibly strengthening self-esteem.
