Using membrane filters in infusion lines (literature review)

The purpose of this review is to analyze the literature on the issue of using membrane filters in infusion lines, which has been controversial for many years with its supporters and opponents and simply bystanders. For example, when we look at the recommendations from the British Pharmaceutical Nutrition Group, we will see recommendations in favor of filters for infusion sets in general, while when we look at the recommendations from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, we will see statements against the use of filters, concerning only their microbiological component.
