High-Gain Circular Patch Antenna Using Superstrate Layer for 5G Applications

This research presents a circular microstrip antenna with high gain for 5 G applications. First, a tapered feed line circular microstrip antenna are developed. A superstrate layer with a thickness of 1.6 mm is positioned above the circular microstrip antenna at the height 1 mmis used to increase its gain, which is roughly doubled. The antenna's overall dimensions are <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$50 \times 40 \text{cm}^{2}$</tex>. The frequency at which the antenna operates is 3.5 GHz. Because FR-4 is utilised as a substrate, the antenna is reasonably priced The main parameters like reflection coefficient, VSWR, 3D radiation pattern, 2D radiation pattern are checked with the help of Ansys HFSS software. For 5G applications, this antenna is a strong alternative.
