Iot-Based Traffic Control for Emergency Services in Smart Transportation System

Ambulances encounter considerable obstacles in transit owing to traffic congestion, especially in heavily populated metropolitan regions. In India, critical delays can profoundly impact patient survival rates. Notwithstanding the augmentation of ambulances in the past twenty years, an effective traffic management system continues to provide difficulty. The IoT-Based Smart Traffic Control for Emergency Services employs LoRa technology, GPS monitoring, and IoT automation to prioritize the flow of ambulances through traffic lights. LoRa-based communication modules facilitate ambulances in transmitting emergency messages to traffic signals; hence, they allow for automatic clearance via dynamic traffic light management. The inclusion of GPS enables real-time tracking of ambulance locations, aiding authorities in the effective management of emergency routes. The device has an integrated buzzer and visual warning mechanism to notify nearby motorists and pedestrians of an approaching ambulance. This intelligent solution reduces ambulance travel time and enhances coordination among emergency responders, traffic authorities, and road users. It offers an efficient and scalable traffic management system suitable for urban deployment to improve emergency response, reduce mortality rates, and optimize healthcare services.
