Somatic Supervision: A Living Body Approach

ABSTRACT This article explores a somatic approach to supervision. Supervisees are invited to notice their own and their patient’s ongoing gestural/postural configurations and accompanying kinesthetic experiences during the therapy and within the supervision session. Illustrations of one individual and two group supervisions are provided to exemplify the diagnosis of contacting from a somatic perspective and its use in moving gracefully and efficiently from content to process.
