Building a Safe Ground in Supervision: Work with Beginner Therapists

ABSTRACT This article explores the topic of building a safe ground in supervision work with novice psychotherapists. We examine the hypothesis that creating a safe ground plays a significant role in cocreating the supervisory relationship, supporting the process of individuation of supervisees, and helping them establish themselves in the role of psychotherapists. The article also presents the results of a survey we conducted among fifty-six Polish novice psychotherapists. It concludes with our findings and practical examples.
