Crisis alimentaria y sistemas alimentarios: aportes a los debates conceptuales y dimensiones de análisis
The food crisis is due, among other factors, to extractivist forms of agribusiness accumulation, economic adjustment and market deregulation policies, and climate crisis. This article proposes a conceptual framework to address food crises from a critical, systemic, processual, and multidimensional perspective of food systems. It is inscribed in the analytical gap on the sustainability of these systems and considers the material, political, symbolic, ecological, and feminized care dimensions due to their relevance. Through a content analysis of secondary sources, the article explores the food situation in Argentina, Latin America, and the world focusing on the aforementioned dimensions. It concludes that agribusiness shapes these variables and hinders food security. Its influence on food systems weakens the capacity of governments, international organizations, and social movements, by prioritizing profits over the care of nature and food. This is reflected in feminized community care spaces that emerge as a response to need in the face of hunger.
