Ethical Aspects of Supervision in Social Assistance
Currently, the social worker profession is based on scientific-practical principles, which involve complex knowledge, to ensure social change and development. Supervision is an operational mechanism and a component part of the continuous training of staff in the social assistance system. There is a wealth of research on clarifying the purpose, procedure and effectiveness of this process. Depending on the type and particularities of the supervision, the limits of the subjects' reports can be identified and the effectiveness of the approach can be determined. The conducted study aims to explore the ethical peculiarities in supervisor-supervised relationships, in order to identify and overcome the risks of non-compliance. The preliminary results of the study show that the supervision carried out in compliance with the legal and quasi-legal framework of professional ethics norms, but also of conscience and personal values, ensures the proper functioning of the supervision framework in social assistance. The presence of these interrelated elements is what can create situations where supervision becomes complex and difficult, confronting ethical dilemmas that do not have a simple solution.
