Improving the Mechanical and Electrical Properties of Acrylonitrile‐Butadiene‐Styrene/Porous Graphene Charcoal Composites via <scp> K 2 FeO 4 </scp> Modification
ABSTRACT This study aimed to fabricate carbon‐plastic composites using acrylonitrile‐butadiene‐styrene (ABS) as the matrix material and modified porous graphite charcoal (PGC) as the reinforcement through a hot‐pressing method. K 2 FeO 4 modification and acidification can promote the increase of the formation of graphitized structure and specific surface area, which improved the mechanical properties of ABS/PGC composites. Particularly, the 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐H + composites exhibited maximum tensile strength and flexural strength of 36.40 and 47.57 MPa, respectively. The degradation temperature and the maximum weight loss temperature of 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐H + composites decreased by 8°C and 12°C compared with ABS/PGC‐900. It can be seen PGC modification reduced the thermal stability of the composites. Additionally, the resistivity of 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐H + was 1.997 Ω*m lower than that of 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐900, indicating improved conductivity. Moreover, the 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐H + composite exhibited slightly higher dielectric properties and dielectric losses than 25 vol% ABS/PGC‐900. Further research is needed to improve the performance of ABS/PGC through the optimization of the K 2 FeO 4 concentration and enhancement in the graphitization degree and porosity of PGC. These optimizations can strengthen the interactions between the filler and matrix, leading to excellent composite properties.
