Gold and Silver Price Forecasting System using Linear Regression Model (SOONAR)

Gold and silver have long been symbols of wealth and are valued for their durability, beauty, and industrial applications. They act as safe-haven assets during economic instability, inflation, or geopolitical tensions. Gold is widely seen as a hedge against inflation, while silver, with its industrial relevance, offers growth potential. InIndia, these metals play a significant role in GDP, employment, and cultural demand, especially in jewellery. After the COVID-19 pandemic, demand increased as investors sought secure alternatives. For example, gold prices rose by 7.6% during a 19.8% market decline. Thisproject forecasts the prices of gold and silver using a Simple Linear Regression model, basedon the past 9 days of price data (Gold 22K/24K; Silver 10g/1kg). It predicts prices for the next three days.By using Linear regression model, prices of gold and silver were predicted up to92% accuracy. The entire process run offline on an Android devicewithout relying on external libraries or data. Thestudy also comparedthe performance of Simple Linear Regression, Multiple Linear Regression, and Support Vector Machines in similar forecasting scenarios.
