A Robust Harmonic Programmed Predictive Control for Medium Voltage Energy Conversion
Larger single-turbine capacity, offering lower total installation and maintenance costs per watt, has attracted significant attention in offshore wind energy generation. However, its limited switching frequency is a key problem, leading to degraded power quality and poor control dynamics. In this work, we propose a robust harmonic programmed predictive control (HP2C) technique. By utilizing precalculated optimized pulse sequences and a hybrid predictive control framework, the proposal reduces current distortion at a fixed switching frequency while achieving fast dynamics. Furthermore, a data-driven estimation and a second-order ultra-local model (ULM) are integrated into the proposal, reducing the sensitivity in system models and eliminating the need for complex manual compensation. Experimental data confirm the effectiveness.
