First demonstration of integrated 3-D multi-modal sensing and PS-4096QAM-OFDM communication via mm-wave Ka-band fiber-wireless radio access network
We investigate the fusion mechanism of millimeter-wave wireless sensing and distributed fiber optic sensing within radio access network. Furthermore, we experimentally demonstrate, for the first time, an integrated 3-D sensing and communication system utilizing only 5G New Radio OFDM communication payloads, without requiring dedicated sensing channels. This experiment successfully achieves simultaneous high-speed wireless communication and aliasing-free multi-object sensing at ultra-high scanning rates, effectively detecting and tracking diverse objects, including drones and smartphones.
