Stable lexical and grammatical forms of expression of evaluative semantics in the speech of theatre critic (based on reviews of P. Rudnev)

The aim of this study is to reveal stable lexical and grammatical forms of expression of evaluative semantics in the speech of theatre critic. This is achieved through the analysis of genre characterization of theatre review, its specific features as a definite genre of mass media, as well as through the analysis of linguistic persona of a theatre critic and markers of specific features of P. Rudnev on the basis of his theatre reviews for the last six years. The novelty of the paper consists, firstly, in the fact that in the present research a thorough analysis of forms of expression of evaluation is newly held within two angles: evaluation as the main task of the genre of theatre review being the main constituent feature of the review, and evaluation as the main goal of writing of every theatre critic who introduces specific evaluative means, peculiar for his own mentality and style. Secondly, the scientific novelty of the paper consists in the fact that in the present research for the first time ever the specific features of changes are described which take place within the genre of theatre review. These changes influence also its evaluative possibilities, in particular: transformation of theater review from a strict institutional discourse into personal, highly evaluative discourse with complete personal element. The study demonstrates that evaluation is, firstly, one of the main features of the definitive genre of theatre review, secondly, the important feature of speech portrait of the linguistic persona of theatre critic. The research helped to specify that every feature of theatre discourse (terminology, professional lexis, anachronisms, stylistic means, citation) and every marker of linguistic persona (occasional words, modified phraseology, intertextuality) can function as stable forms of evaluation expression within theatre review.
