Advancing Smart Grid Dispatchability Through Multi-Objective IoT and Blockchain Integration

An efficient approach toward mitigating energy dispatchability challenges of smart grids is combining blockchain with multi-objective optimization. Recommended in this regard for resilient grids, reduced cost, and load balancing is the integration of a DAG-based blockchain with NSGA-II. This type of design may execute the transactions more securely and with enhanced efficiency. Real-time data acquisition and processing are supported by sensors built on FPGAs and nodes that are placed on the network's periphery. Substantial improvements of the framework resulted in a 14.3% reduction in energy expenditures, 33.3% load variations reduction, and an improvement in grid resilience. This helped reduce latency, improve throughput, and achieve scalability through effective consensus and sharding approaches by utilizing blockchain technology. The results obtained clearly show that the proposed approach does enhance the security, scalability, and performance of the smart grid.
