Generation Z's Approach to Digital Investment Intentions from E-Business Practices

Investment is seen as an activity that can have a positive impact on many parties. The times have created a generation with different characteristics and behaviors from the previous generation. As with the investment behavior of Gen Z, it is necessary to investigate more deeply what factors drive the intention to invest. This study also aims to examine the moderate effects of institutional trust. This study uses a quantitative approach with primary data from 250 Gen Z respondents on their intention to invest in capital market. Data was collected through an online survey. The sample determination used a purposive sampling technique. Structural Equation Modelling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) technique was used to test the proposed model. The test results show that Gen Z's digital investment intention was influenced by financial literacy mediated by the variables of TPB, attitude and perceived behavioral control. In addition, there is also a positive moderating effect of institutional trust on the relationship between attitude and investment intention. The results of this research can serve as strategic reference for the stakeholders to encourage a positive digital investment climate to support urban economic growth.
